Making a Snowman

YA ESTA SUPER NEVADO POR ACA!! El martes pasado nevo muchisimo. Asi que Ian le pidio a su papa si podian hacer un muñeco de nieve en el patio y hasta JJ se unio al reven.



THERE'S SNOW EVERYWHERE!! We had lots of snow. So,Tuesday night Ian asked his dad if they could build a snowman together in the yard. Even JJ joined the fun.

Ayer le corto Jhon el cabello a Ian y al arreglarse se encontro un mini gafete de misionerito, Ian se lo puso y modelo para nosotros!!

Ian got a haircut yesterday. When he was getting ready for church he found out a tiny missionary name tag. He put it on and model for us!!

What's is in you list for Santa

Just an update for you guys! We had a very nice Thanksgiving. We went to Aspen, there was snow all around. It was Jacek's first time standing on snow. He was a little scare because he couldn't move. He had snow up to his knees! We also went to see the Christmas lights. Glenwood Springs' hotels put lights up everywhere. It was very pretty.
We also went on a hay ride in New Castle city. Then, Ian was so excited to see Santa because on his list there are lots of batteries for his toys. He is so cute! He know that most of his toys need batteries to work so he want to make sure he has plenty of them for next year fun. We love holidays, lots of fun stuff!



Un poco de actualizacion para todos. Pasamos un dia de gracias muy lindo. Hemos tenido varias actividades. Visitamos Aspen, esta super nevado. Fue la primera vez que Jacek se paro en la nieve y como le llegaba hasta las rodillas se asusto un poco porque no podia moverse. Tambien vimos muchas luces en los hoteles de Glenwood Springs. Fuimos a un paseo en un carro de paja por la ciudad de New Castle. Tambien vimos a Santa para que los niños le pidieran sus regalos. Ian esta muy emocionado, entre su lista estan unas pilas para todos sus juguetes, jiji tan lindo mi nene que sabe que sin las pilas no sirven sus juguetes y por eso quiere muchas esta navidad para todo el año. En fin, nos encanta esta temporada, muchas cosas lindas!

Bye, bye Soccer & Fall fun

I almost forgot these pics. Ian and his cousin, Gabito, took a soccer class together. Now we got some snow already, so its kind of difficult to get back to the field or the park. LOL. Eventually, we will be posting winter fun very soon.

Casi se me olvidaban estas fotos. Ian y su primo Gabito tomaron un curso de futbol juntos. Ahora ya llego la nieve asi que sera dificil salir a jugar fut de nuevo o ir al parque. Pero de seguro pondremos muchas fotos de la nieve!

Downtown Denver

We spent the week-end in Denver. It was fun to just relax for a bit, and to visit a big city. We were excited to see so many buildings and stores, since our town is so small. haha! We enjoyed spending the day all around downtown. We also went to the Aquarium. The exhibits are incredible, huge tanks and lots of all kinds of fishes, even swimming tigers! WOW! We learned about ecosystems and other animal's habitat too.

Este fin de semana fuimos a Denver. Fue muy divertido relajarnos un poco y visitar una ciudad! Estabamos tan emocionados de ver tantos edificios y tiendas ya que nuestro pueblito es tan chico. jaja! Disfrutamos mucho pasar todo el dia paseando en el Centro de la ciudad. Tambien fuimos al acuario. Las exhibiciones estan increibles, los tanques estaban enormes y peces de todo tipo. De hecho habia hasta unos tigres nadadores! Aprendimos mucho ya que cada sala estaba representada por un ecosistema del mundo.
We were taking a picture close to a turtle because Ian loves them. Suddenly, the turtle fell down from the rock it was standing on. Poor turtle, it fell backwards so we waited until it turned up again.

Estabamos tomando una foto cerca de una tortuga porque a Ian le encantan las tortugas. De repente se cayo la tortuga de la piedra en donde estaba parada. Asi que nos quedamos viendo hasta que se volteo para arriba. Fue chistosisimo verla voltearse con su concha tan pesada y con su patitas tan pequeñas. Ian nos tomo la foto sentados con el tiburon. Ian le dijo a Jhon que abrazara al tiburon jijiji.

Brothers

JJ loves his brother. We had fun watching them jumping from the center table to the bean bag in the living room. JJ also started to copy Ian during prayers. In this picture JJ has his "arms folded". I think that's why baby pictures are just with hands together while praying. cute ha!

JJ adora a su hermano. Nos divertimos viendolos brincar de la mesa de centro a la bean bag en la sala. Jj tambien esta copiando a Ian cuando hace oracion. Aqui esta disque cruzando sus brazos, Pense en las fotos de bebes cuando oran con las manitas juntas, lindo no!

Mealworms moulting in my classroom.

Anyway, let me tell you about our project for this month in my classroom. We made homes for mealworms. I navigated on the web to find out about their lifetime stages, what they eat, etc. And went to a pet shop and I got several REAL mealworms. It was kind of scary in the beginning because the lesson required to measure them. We put them on a piece of paper and we used a ruler to find out their sizes in inches and cm. It was worthy to learn how to handle worms. It is so much fun watching all my students so engaged! They love to watch them grow, they draw and write about them. And they are learning so much vocabulary. It is just a perfect activity.

Saben les platicare que en mi salon estamos haciendo un proyecto con gusanitos. Investigue todo acerca de ellos, lo que comen, las etapas, etc. Me daba miedito al principio porque teniamos que medirlos y ponerlos en un papel. Pero vale la pena al ver a mis alumnos tan interesados en la clase. Estan todos hablando de ellos, los dibujan y escriben sobre los cambios que ven en los gusanos. Es una activida perfecta.

Halloween @ Highland School

Each class at Highland had a party, except Preschoolers who did not celebrate Halloween to prevent some kids from getting scared of costumes. So, I stole Ian from his classroom, and we went around to get some treats and pics of my students. It was so much fun to see Ian participating in his first " school halloween parade". We walked inside a circle of third and forth graders, and then we came back to his classroom. The kids were very nice to him, they shouted at him the "tiny cute GOOD Spiderman". Since most of the other ones were the black Spiderman, and Ian looked so small. He used his web to scare them as he walked by them.
After having several goodies and walking in the parade, Ian went back to his classroom, and joined the rest of his classmates for snack. He ate a waffle with apple sauce! Wow, first time I saw him eating that much!








En mi escuela, hubo un desfile y cada salon tuvo su propia fiesta, exepto el salon de Ian porque la miss no queria que algunos de sus alumnos se fueran a espantar con los disfraces. Asi que fui por Ian y fuimos a cada salon de mis alumnos. Comimos de todo y tomamos fotos de mis alumnos. Despues Ian camino adentro de un circulo que hicieron los niños de tercero y cuarto y le gritaban que estaba muy bonito y chiquito y que era el "Spiderman Bueno". Ian disque les disparaba sus telarañas para espantarlos. Despues de regreso a su salon se sento a comer con todos sus compañeritos y comio un waffle con pure de manzana. Es la primera vez que veo que come tanto! Estuvo muy divertido. Recuerden que si le dan Clic en cada foto, se hacen grandes y las pueden ver mejor, jijij!

Y le encanta sonreir y posar para las fotos. JJ ya tiene muchos dientes y copia en todo a su hermano Ian. Aqui esta mi abejito precioso!

Halloween!

I love Halloween parties, especially if we all dress up. We went trunk or trick in our church parking lot. I had no clue what it looked like. But it was way fun. They all opened their trunks, hanged up some orange lights, set up some lanterns and we all went around to get candy and fun stuff.
Paty was a fairy, Jhon was a skeleton, JJ a bumble bee and Ian was spiderman!

Fuimos a una fiesta de Halloween en la capilla. Paty se disfrazo de Hadita, Jhon de esqueleto, JJ de abejita e Ian de el hombre araña. Nos divertidmos mucho porque abren sus cajuelas del coche y ponen lucecitas, calabazas y decoraciones muy lindas y todos los niños pasamos a cada coche a pedir dulces.

Touch a Truck Activity

We went to a family activity sponsored by the city. They have all kinds of "trucks", and we all got to jump in. Ian had so much fun! He even wore his firefighter costume. His favorites ride were the big crane, and the helicopter. Just like in Thomas the Engine, his favorite cartoon ever. Jacek loved the fake talking police dog!
Fuimos a una actividad que organizo la ciudad. Tenia todo tipo de camiones, gruas, botes, ambulancias, etc. Ian se divertio mucho. Hasta uso su disfraz de bombero. Se subio a una grua gigantesca y al helicoptero. Igual que como su caricatura favorita de Thomas el tren. A Jacek le gusto el perro policia de a mentiras que hablaba, jijiji!

Gracias amigos!!!

Este fin de semana fuimos a Provo. Muchisimas gracias a todos nuestros amigos, en especial a los Tovey. Al regreso Ian venia comentando que le gusto mucho estar en casa de Sunshine y haber comido con ella. Tambien estaba muy emocionado de haber visto a sus amigos de la capilla. Fue increible que pudimos verlos a todos. Los extrañamos mucho!!

Jhon's surprise b-day party

El dia de los niños heroes en Mexico nosotros tambien celebramos el cumple de Jhon. Por eso le digo el niño heroe, jijiji. Y este año le hicimos una fiesta sorpresa familiar. Ian estaba super emocionado preparando el pastel y ayudandome a decorar. Le hicimos una tarjeta y apagamos las luces para escondernos y sorprenderlo al llegar. Estuvo muy divertido porque JJ no sabia ni que onda y por eso sale con una carita de que pasa? Mientras nosotros salimos hechando nuestro relajito.
This year we had a surprise b-day family party for Jhon. Ian was so excited. He helped me to make a card, to bake and to decorate the kitchen. JJ was slightly puzzled with the idea of a surprise. Meanwhile, we were having a blast!jijiji
